A specialized orthopedic, trauma, and joint surgery team successfully performed a complex surgical procedure on a young man from Karbala who was suffering from an intra-articular knee fracture associated with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) instability.

Dr. Ahmed Neama Al-Taie stated that the patient, a 22-year-old man from Karbala, had sustained a fracture extending into the knee joint along with instability of the anterior cruciate ligament. This type of injury is considered particularly complex due to its potential impact on the stability and function of the knee.

Dr. Al-Taie explained that the procedure was performed using advanced arthroscopic techniques. The fractured bone fragment, which extended to the attachment of the anterior cruciate ligament, was restored to its normal anatomical position and securely stabilized.

He noted that the operation was carried out through small surgical incisions measuring no more than about one centimeter, helping to reduce surgical risks and accelerate the patient’s recovery.

Dr. Al-Taie emphasized that such procedures require a high degree of precision and extensive surgical expertise, adding that the use of advanced modern surgical techniques contributed to achieving positive outcomes and ensuring the patient’s safety.
