In a significant surgical achievement, an Iraqi medical team at Al-Kafil Specialized Hospital has conducted a vital operation to address breathing difficulties in a fifty-year-old patient caused by thyroid gland enlargement. Emphasizing the privacy of this medical case, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Khalf, a general surgery specialist at the hospital, stated, "We formed a medical team under our leadership to address the specificity of this medical condition."
Dr. Khalf explained, "We performed a crucial surgery for a fifty-year-old patient who had neglected thyroid enlargement for the past 20 years, resulting in breathing difficulties." After conducting necessary health assessments, it was revealed that a complication existed: difficulty placing a breathing tube through the mouth due to severe enlargement. Consequently, we formed a medical team under our leadership, including Dr. Adel Al-Masoudi, to insert the tube through the nose.
Despite the complexities of the procedure, Dr. Khalf added that they successfully completed it safely, enabling the patient to return to his normal life. He highlighted the hospital's significant role in possessing advanced technologies for performing complex operations that require expertise and precision.
